Heyy, I can’t figure out which one of my two pigs is having these mushy poops, could be both, but they are left in clumps AND there are poop stains in the cage. I gave them lettuce last night and I will keep them off of veggies tonight and possibly tomorrow to see if it resolves. I’m am just curious since I have seen posts about mushy poops but nothing including stains, could that be an indicator that it is any worse? They are quite a bit long as well. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks!

It looks like they may just be soft and squashed into the bedding a bit. It’s hard to tell from a photo.

If you are worried that they are softer than they should be, then keep them off veggies until their poops normalise and then still keep them off for a further 24 hours after they return to normal. They could be off veggies for several days. If things don’t improve after a couple of days off veg, then speak to a vet. Feeding them just hay (and their normal limited amount of pellets) will help their system return to balance

If you introduce new vegetables or start to put them out on the grass then you need to do it slowly so their tummies can Adjust

Thank you! I will keep them off of veggies until it resolves, and they won’t be going outside anytime soon. :)
