We love music in house and have very eclectic tastes. I have noticed that our guineas do love music and classical music (chill out classics particularly) seem to be their thing. Put it on and they just lie down and fall asleep! Anyone noticed this? What your guineas favourites? It doesn't quite work the same for rock ! Tried to get them into Lincoln Park and My chemical romance but it's not been so well received although they do seem to love music of any kind!

Oh that's funny! We have this amazing sonos system where you can listen to music throughout the house, different music in each room. If we are in the kitchen and the guineas are in the lounge I insist they have their classical music. They will always be sound asleep, but if it's rock, they are chilled out but not asleep. Funny things.

Mine don't seem to pay attention to music at all (they live in the TV room and I have three kids- they are pretty much immune to household noise by the time they are here a few months!) They do pay attention to unusual noises (like birdsong outside that they wouldn't normally hear when they are indoors through most of the year here), but music seems to blend right into the normal ambiance of kids/tv/background noise for them.

Awww, I haven't noticed with my girls but that's what I'll be doing tomorrow! Maybe we could have a top 10!

I like this! I'll try mine out with other stuff over the weekend! We should definitely compile a top ten Lol! I am thinking of getting a radio to go in their shed (other half thinks I am nuts!) as they really do noticeably respond to music.

Archie likes classical guitar, traditional arabic flute, classical harp, traditional southeast asian, the clangers soundtrack, the jazzy stuff from the twin peaks soundtrack, instrumental love songs from films.
And latin dance music but only if I am dancing to it, cause he likes to watch.

The Clangers soundtrack?! That's hilarious! I can also just imagine him watching you dancing...you just need to get him to join in now....

Guinea pigs are like a creature that would be in the clangers I think :)
Sometimes he dances but with a tune in his own head, never when Ive had music on.

Well, I am a singing teacher and have my piano and do all my lesson preparation in the piggy room so they have to like music! Barry my old piggy loved music and luckily the new piggy has passed the singing and piano test and fell asleep when I started singing. He does prefer to the ballads though. I notice when I sing higher notes he pops his head up and looks slightly shocked!

Ours seem pretty immune to my music, my son's keyboard lesson practice and my 3 year old's constant singing of Frozen ;)
Poor things! But I have a friend who swears that her pigs used to wheek and get all excited when the "Friends" theme came on ;)

I'm not completely sure about this, but I think my girls enjoy Christmas music! They always seem to sit on me longer. :)

wow I need one of those!

Our guys never seem to mind music and we listen to some rather loud and heavy stuff. Saying that the other day daddypig had his headphones on as he was listening to music quite early and didnt want to disturb the neighbours, he took one out to go say hello to the pigs and give them a treat - Wyatt took the treat (of course!) but then shot off like a rocket. We think it must have been the way the sound was coming out all scratching and at a funny pitch through the dangling headphone!

Ours like music as long as it doesnt come out of a laptop or mobile phone. Then they start purring and they literally stop the second the music stops.
