My 10-year-old Piggy Died Yesturday :(

Unfortunately my 10 year old guinea pig called Twix died yesturday at 11:30pm 10th August. Obviously 10 years is very old for a guinea pig so he has had a really good life, his breathing went funny earlier on in the day so i stayed with him all day (10 hours!) and the last hour i put him on the floor and he literally RAN across the room (he has been ill for the past week) i picked him back up and just gave him cuddles, he was breathing very slowly and they he pulled his face into his neck as he couldnt take another breath. at this point i was balling my eyes out but suddenly the life went from his eyes, but I'm glad to say that i was with him for the last day of his life.

We had his funeral today (i have some pictures if anyone wants to see them?) i buried him where me and my partner went on your first date, a place called Highdown hill when you can see the whole of Worthing on the top, and we buried him next to a tree and engraved his name loads of times into it. I'm going to miss my little man so much! but i buried him with 3 photo's of me and my partner and one of him, and a little note, incase he gets found in 20 years time or something. He is in a air tight box ♥

But RIP gorgeous, ill love you forever!♥♥

That's too bad. He lived a long and happy life. Sorry for your loss. It's very rare that he lived ten years but he must have been very happy to have stayed with you on earth for ten years. Cherish his memories and be glad he isn't suffering anymore
 
I'm sorry for your loss, but what a lovely tranquil place for him to rest now.

RIP lovely boy.
 
I, too, am sorry for your loss; it's hard to lose anyone whom you've known for 10 years for any reason . Thank you for the funeral photos. Maybe post the report in the Rainbow Bridge section? I am certain many others would like to know what happened.

I am so sorry for your loss. What a grand old age Twix lived to. He was clearly loved and taken very good care of. You picked a lovely place for him to be buried. Run free at the bridge Twix, you will be missed dearly x

Hope you are ok, ten is a fantastic age and i know you will be feeling bad at the moment but i so wish id had the experience of a piggy for this long, what an absolute treat you must have so many precious memories xxxxxx

I am so sorry about Twix. That is a lovely ceremony you held... 10 years is a grand age! That was nice of you to spend the last day with your baby... Can we see some photos of him? It would be nice:) Again, I am really sorry:(
 
So sorry that Twix had to leave for rainbow bridge, he has had a wonderful ten years with you and by the sounds of things he was very healthy up until this time, which is good. RIP now little fella, and watch over your mummy from above.:rose

What a lovely tribute and final resting place for this special piggie. What a wonderful age he was and must have have a wonderful life with you. Sleep well little..
 
That is a wonderful tribute and good bye place you have found for Twix. It is hard to say good bye when you have shared such a long part of your life with him. But he will live always in your memories once you get over the worst of your grief - a warm furry presence.

At least that is what our first family piggy does in my memories - he lived to nearly 10 years old, too.

RIP Twix - you were much loved and are now much missed

Twix was an amazing age at 10 years, and he had a happy life, take care of yourself at such a sad time xx
 
Awwww I'm sorry hear about twix, 10 is am amazing age, I'm sure he had a very happy loving life. That's a beautiful place to be buried too, lovely for him. Sounds like he passed peacefully of old age which I find comforting, over any other reason IMO. What a privilege to have had so many fantastic years with a piggie xx

What a lovely way to remember your cherished baby, I did the same for my Hope when he passed, I took him to a woods near my house full of lush greens and a beautiful river.

:( sorry to hear about Twix but 10 years is such an amazing amazing age for a piggy to live to, you obviously did a brilliant job and he was obviously a very happy little piggle. Big hugs to you, i can only imagine how you are feeling, he will be popcorning and running around up there munching on all the grass i'm sure! x
 
that's really sad but he must have been so well looked after and loved to have live until that age.
