I'm worried as his poo is very watery, it's still coming out poo shaped but if I pick it up it is soft. He seems happy though, he's currently munching hay and seems content. Just don't know whether to be worried or not and what to do? Also what could be the cause? Could it be too much veg?

The most common cause of soft poos is too much veg so the first thing to do is to cut out fresh veg from the diet completely. Once the poos are back to normal, introduce veg back, but keep an eye on it.

If a guinea pig has soft poos, please take it off any fresh food (veg and grass) until the poos have firmed up again for 24-48 hours. Then reintroduce fresh food slowly and gradually.

Make sure that your piggies have unlimited hay and fresh water daily, which should make 80% of the daily food intake anyway. Veg (ca. 50g per piggy per day) should only make about 10-15 % and pellets (about 40g for young piggies, 10-20g for adults) should make 5-10% of the daily menu. Be careful when introducing any fresh food and grass, as tummies have to slowly adapt to them, especially in new guinea pigs that come from a background where no or very little fresh food has been given.

If it gets worse or if the diarrhea is fluid, please see a vet promptly; asap as a life and death emergency if the runs are very fluid, very dark and very smell.

As soon as I noticed I took the veg away, I just have the issue that Oscar will need his veg and he hates being away from him (squeaks like mad) but it'll have to be done! Thanks :)

Just give his ill companion a tiny portion of what Oscar has (just a taster), so there are no riots when they meet again. ;)

Thank you! It's still poo like shape but its very and wet looking!
I think maybe he's eaten too much veg because he eats with Oscar, and I think he tries to keep up with him! Haha :) it smells bad but not awful, smells normal really? I'll be keeping an eye on him, if he's worse in morning I'll be taking him vets!

They always have plenty of hay available, even at floor time! I have lots of hay toys too like hanging cubes etc and they're always eating that? Plus, plenty of pellets and water!

Just hope it goes away and he gets better! Although he doesn't seem distressed. Is there any signs I should look for in himself that would indicate he was poorly? Apart from the liquid poos?

Young guinea pigs learn what is safe to eat and what not by taking food from mum and other adults (or in the absence from the group leader). They also take their cues from the top piggy. ;)
