My 1month + old pig suddenly died overnight

My chibi was around 1 month 2 weeks + age , I got him 2.5 weeks ago from a pet shop. They seemed very rough to the baby so I took it in. I used to feed it greens like beans, cabbage, broccoli, peas and occasionally carrots and guava too. It was very lively and would be running around and wheeking all the time. I also provided it with hay bundles everyday and change water and clean its cage everyday. It is cold so I kept it's cage covered during night. However I couldn't find very good quality hay where I live so I was preparing to order it online. A few days ago its droppings started changing consistency , and we started treating it with diarhhea medicine. It didnt lose any appetite and remained healthy as ever and even its poop consistency started improving. Yesterday there was a sudden drop in temperature and we covered him even well and kept her inside our living room. But in the morning it was dead. It is really devastating and I don't understand how to deal with this.

I am so sorry for the loss or your piggy. Piggie hide illness well as they are prey animals, unfortunately there is no way of knowing what could have cause them to pass, it sounds like they may have had an underlying health condition. So sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear this, it sounds like you were caring for your little piggy very well, sadly many pet shop piggies are sold to you with health problems you don't know about

Thank you for your kind words, I truly appreciate it. I feel I have let my pet down, and though I have heard and read everywhere that young piggies many time die under unknown cause I still feel unrest, however I truly appreciate the support I am receiving here.

Thanks a lot for your kind words. I really felt motherly attachment to my piggy. That's why I tried to do whatever I could for it. But after this loss I just can't stop feeling that maybe there was more I could have done and I let my chibi down. Thanks for your support. I really appreciate it.
