These are the two "gypsy" girls from the SSPCA seizure of 44 pigs from a travellers' caravan site. They are heavily pregnant and its amazing just to watch the little ones punching away inside both mums' tums.

They should give birth any day now - once babies 6 weeks old - mums and babies will all be up to rehoming and I will post them in the Rescue Section.

Oh helen they are just beautiful, beautiful girls! Here's hoping the births go smoothly. I have some dried raspberry leaf here that no-one is interested in (even grubber emily!) so remind me to hand them over next time we meet for these lovely ladies.

Sue, One of the girls has a really bad wound on her neck which I have treated with some very weak neem oil and it seems to be helping. All 44 were running together when the SSPCA collected them so I am sure there will be more of them with injuries. Most of the pigs (I sexed them all so handled them all) - were very very thin so I have been feeding them lots of veggies/hay and mix to help them along with the pregnancies.

They are very frightened girls but hopefully we can bring them round over the next few weeks until they are ready to go to lovely homes.

Gosh Helen they have grown so much in the week I've not seen them!

Our 'gypsy girl' Harriet has an old wound too, much older then a week so before they were rescued but its healing well :)

Hope all goes well, at least you know these babies have a secure future and won't live the lives their parents have, poor girls.

Mother Nature can be pretty kind sometimes though - often even the most neglected sows will give birth to big healthy babies. With each day with you at least they are building up their strength ready to be mums.

It's all so unnecessary though - why do people never learn? :(

Aww what gorgeous girls, they look like their ready to burst.
I hope everything goes smoothly for them.
Please keep us updated on these darlings girls.
I wish i lived closer then i could maybe help you out but it seems like your all under control.
Sending lots of love and kisses to these little darlings xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Aww bless them and their round tumms! very lovely ladies.

and well done you for taking them all in! x

Fingers crossed for these girlies x>>... but I am sure everything will go well.

Well done for taking them in and feeding them up.

Look forward to more photos when the babies are born - I am sure they will all be stunners!
