This is a picture of Bubbles and Squeek :)

Here are my 2 babies that i bought 3 weeks ago, unfortunatly squeek has had a few probs since we got her, from pets at home......( i wont be going there again, i will visit an adoption or rescue home next time). She started off with a sneeze and runny nose, and after a visit to vets they said she will be fine, and if she gets worse, take her back..., so a week later she was back at vets, she was struggling to walk, kept toppling over on her side and walking in circles, vets say she has a inner ear infection, so she had 4 days of injection antibiotics and anti-inflammatory and she seems to be improving since she first started, so now she is on a 2 weeks course of baytrill, an am hoping all has cleared up after this and does'nt return.
squeek has been a fighter all the way< and think it has helped hugely that she has been eating well all the way and been getting lots of snuggles and veggys. although she is half the size of her sister who is the same age :)

I love my bubbles and squeek x)

I hope Squeek gets well soon

Hi and welcome to you Squeek and Bubbles :)
Sorry to hear about Squeek :... hopefully the meds will clear everything up!
They're both gorgeous x)

Fingers crossed for Squeek!

You have a lovely pair.

Awwwww Squeek and Bubbles what sweeties! x) Hope Squeek gets well soon! xxxxxx

well back at vets today! 2 week course of antiobiotics is up, and squeeks tilted head isnt yet gone, niether is here wobbly walk :( and to top it off she has got a little absess on her ear also, so hopefully there is something more they can do with her.
she's still getting along fine, eating loads, infact she is more active than my other pig which is healthy, just seems to be one thing after another with her, poor girl

Has anyone else had problems like these?

Lovely little babies you have - and I love their names too!

Sure it won't be long before Squeek is fighting fit - bless her!

xxxxxxx

My Sweepie was the same when I got her. She was a pet shop pig (I didn't know you could rescue at that point) and six weeks old when she arrived with me. It wasn't until a couple of days later, when I had her out on the floor, that I realised she could not walk. Poor baby - her back legs did not function! So off we went to the vets (the highlight of my day - at the time we had a VERY attractive vet) and he gave her some Vit C and antibiotics, which eventually did the trick, but she was a real runt. Then she had other issues with diarrhoea, and it was one thing after the other.

She's nearly 4 now, and you'd never realise she was such a frail thing - she rules the roost! And, where she was handled so much as a tiny piggie because of her problems, she is incredibly tame. And not scared of anything - she seems to lack the rodent instict to hide and instead sniffs the air if dogs etc are in the vicinity, I guess because she was surrogate pup to our elderly border collie, Millie (I don't advocate putting guinea pigs with dogs, but Millie was a VERY good dog, and past the nosy puppy stage. They were always supervised).

Persevere, because it is absolutely worth it.

That is exactly how she is.... she's the more dominant one, even though she is the smallest, she's isnt scared of loud and sudden noises or nothing :)

squeek finsihed her course of antibiotics today and the vet yesterday said there isnt more he can do for her, shes had antiobiotic injections ans anti-inlammatory injections, and a 2 week course of antibiotic drops also, and still she still has her head tilt and wobble yet she is perfectly fine in her self and she is putting weight on also :) he also said he wouldnt operate on here little absess as she is so small, she may not even wake from the anesthetic, or if she did it would nock her back in health again.

He said just to spoil her and if at anytime she looked miserable or she stopped eating, then i had to think of her quality of life at that point and do the kindest thing, as hard as it would be :( but i have faith in her, she will get better, shes a fighter :)
