My newest addition is 10 weeks old and I've just weighed him and he is 693g, this seems huge to me. He is a peruvian and originally came from show stock (I didn't buy him from the breeder though), could this be why he is so big?

My baby is huge as well i just think she is a very confident guinea pig (e.g she comes out often and is not a scared gp). This means she gets lots of grass and lots of food this is why my gp is big. Hope this helps.

They all vary in size. The main thing is to make sure that they are increasing in weight and not losing. I use this rule of thumb regarding weight: Feel for the ribs - if they really stick out, too thin; if you can just feel them, just right; if you can't feel them at all, too fat.

Weights and sizes in babies can vary enormously; the birth weight can vary between 40g -140g; that is more than 3 times the size! It snowballs from there, even between siblings... It can well be that your boy is a single boy from a mother on optimal nutrition and care. My surprise baby Tegan (a half peru) was not far behind your boy; she stopped growing much soon after 4 months old once she came close to her optimal adult weight and size, having had all the advantages, and is now an ideal weight.
On the other hand, I have had youngsters that were 450g at 6 months old depsite good care since birth; they are still on the small side, but have eventually crept into the normal range of average weights.

Just keep him in on a good balanced diet, and everything is going to sort itself out on its own and he will reach his own genetically determined ideal weight/size in the end, whether that is at the large end or in the middle of the spectrum. As long as he continues to grow steadily for a few more weeks yet and does not lose any weight at any point, there is no need to worry.

These threads here can help you figure out whether your piggies are a good weight for their individual size (babies and old piggies are usually a bit bonier; babies because all the energy goes into growth and only later into fat reserves once the initial fast growth phase is over).

Wyatt Chirp was a HUGE baby, very similar weight and age to your chap - we thought he'd end up massive but by about 6 months he'd evened out at 1kg (the smallest piggy we've ever had) and thats been that. He's wonderfully proportioned and in the best of health so I guess he was just an early starter and got all his growing done quick :)

I have a boy who is 6 weeks old & weighs 510g. At his current rate of development he will probably be over 700g by the time he's 10 weeks old. He gained 175g in the previous 13 days since he arrived at the rescue x
