jimbobs my 12 year old, green budgerigar passed away last night.

those who keep budgies will know 12 years is a long life for one (tehir average life span is 7 years in captivity) but jimbobs was my guardian angel, and she stuck around.

jimbobs was with me before i met my first husband,a nd saw me through teh bad times when i underwenta messy seperation.

by teh time my secodn husband nick came along (4 1/2 year ago) he was challenged with not just winning my heart but jimbobs heart too, whenever he would coem near me she would snarl at him from teh cage she shared with her cagemate foggy (whom ui had to have put to sleep 6 months ago aged 8 years).

nick percevered though, and he and jimbobs built a bond, to the extent taht we now have 7 other budgies.

when jimbobs cagemate passed away we moved jimbobs intot he lounge so that she had plenty of company from us.

it was aftera day in teh garden whistling to teh wild birds, that last night in teh lounge jimmys tarted to suffer mini strokes, she didnt appear in pain, just wanted to sit down and nest. we took her out an dsat her in my hands, with nick stroking her two, and an hour and a half later she had one large stroke and passed. i am so glad she had enjoyed her final day in teh garden with us earlier that day.

nicka nd i had known for soemtime taht it woudl happen one day,a nd we'd always joked she was stickinga round until she was sure we were happily married...well yesterday was three months exactlys ince we took our vows, and we are now more convinced than ever that that was jimmys role in life to support me until she was sure i had found true happiness.

rip jimmy, youw ill be deeply missed, teh house is not teh same without yoru whistles.x

I am so sorry to hear you lost Jimbobs, becks. *Hugs* to you. He sounds like he was a very precious bird.

Rest well, dear Jimbobs. xx

That is a very long time you've had with Jimbobs! I can feel for you - losing her after this long a time, must be so devastating!

She will live on in your heart and loads of lovely memoires; but right now there is only the sense of loss and the big gap she leaves.

BIG HUG

Fly free and whistle to the birds on the other side, Jimbobs!

its quiet at the moment, although the tiels sound like they are trying to make up for the absence of her chirrups. i may have to move some of the other budgies into the lounge to make up for it x

So sorry to hear about Jimbobs. This little birdie has been a part of your life for a long time and it is so sad her time has come to go to Rainbow Bridge. She had a wonderful life with you and my, what an age. Fly free at Rainbow Bridge sweet Jimbobs and send kisses down for your mummy who is missing you terribly..
