Well you might be in luck there cos I’m finding it hard to get hold of a new rescued rodent, at this rate I’m gonna have to get a pet shop one but I don’t wanna do that. It’s against my morals.
BTW ain’t nowt wrong with learning to love.

When I got my rodents I weren’t all that keen on them at all. My heart was still in love with my dead beautiful bunny rabbit Henry, I just got the rodents to keep me company and to give them a good home with the thought that they’ll grow on me later and they sure did. Especially the black one. We were close.

& he didn’t love me straight away,

it took me about a year and a half before I could catch the damn things with ease.

They’d come and sniff my fingers but no way would either be up for being handled without a fight but in the last year I could remove the black one’s cardboard box and stroke him in his bed and he’d let me pick him up without a fight. Even the fudge coloured one doesn’t always bolt straight away when I lift his box up for catching. I can often get a few strokes in before he tries to escape. Mind you the black one liked being petted by me but the fudge coloured one has a totally different personality. He s*ddin’ well bit me last night.

I don’t think he wants to be petted, I think he wants a friend, he’s so miserable now and is so very inactive.
You know what, personally I think I’d want a real ugly rodent that’s good with people than another pretty rodent that doesn’t want to be petted. I miss Rumball.
He was pretty ugly himself but he was such a nice thing.
