My Boy Chewy And His New Girl Poppy!

Chewy was neutered over 6 weeks ago and during that time a single female came up at the Assisi Animal Rescue where I got my two other boys from.

At only 5 months she had already had two babies and she was handed in with them by their owners.
They knew I was looking for a girl for Chewy and voila - she is now with me and is happily living with Chewy! I had to kept them apart for a few weeks till Chewy was 6 weeks past the op, but as soon as they moved in together they just got on.

He is so much chirpier now, and she loves stealing his food and being the boss, and they popcorn loads together - so both being under a year they should have a long life together - isnt it great when you get a happy ending for a wee hairy male guinea pig whom no one wanted at the pet shop! chewy and poppy.webpPoppy is the white and brown one and loves cuddles!

After finding a girl for my newly neutered ASBO male at the weekend, I'm so pleased at the difference she's made to him. He'd been so 'depressed/withdrawn' since his compaion died.

Long may Chewy continue to enjoy being bossed around!
 
I got Chewy as the pet shop said when they introduced new males as his mates were bought he just wanted to fight them, so that how he ended up on his own, but having living side by side in separate hutches for about 4 weeks (until he was safe at 6 weeks) he has so far had no problem with poppy. He would always hide when I went in the shed to see him and the other boys, but now if she's out he comes out too - it's made him much more confident and chattery!
