Well, as the title says, my only boy piggy has lumps all over his body.

We have been so taken up with Pootle being ill since Xmas that's it's only now, when we have has proper time to spend grooming our other pigs, that I noticed the lumps. He is a v long haired boy and only likes being stroked on the top of his head so they were almost missed.

Basically he has a big harder lump on his leg and lots of tiny under skin bumps all over his underside. I can't see the small ones but can feel them.

My fluffy also has one huge fatty lump on her belly which has been growing but we will soon have that removed as she had it tested and they said it was just fatty tissue and wasn't attached.

Does any1 know what guinesses lumps could be?

He is normal, eating well do not obviously ill.

my pepper had them, and i noticed today my mums boy has them too so i am also interested in this thread :)

I would go to a vet, their is no point guessing as there are so many possibilities of could be's google lumps and you will get anything from tumours, too fatty lumps and rare conditions.

The pigs need examined. If I found a lump on myself, then I would go to the doctor apply the same logic to your pigs.

Lumps can be innocent but they can also be deadly, its best too findout exactly what your dealing with.

Good luck xx

Oo, I should have said, but I practically have my own private booth at the vets from being there so often and always take the piggies.
I was simply asking you guys because generally, my vets know nothing about piggies and after losing my pootle recently - helped along by their incompetence, I wanted to get some feedback from you guys to see what you have experienced with lumps before.

We had this problem with henry he developed lumps on his belly and in other places. Fatty type tissue on biopsy. We were going to have surgery but decided there were too many too remove all and they could come back. Henry was otherwise a very fit 3 year old so we decided to take a chance and leave it as surgery in itself was **** more of a risk. Henry is still very well and the big lump on his shoulder has gone down now ! He still has other lumps but is happy and thats 8 months down the line. I am glad i did not have surgery to make me feel better as i do worry ! X

Thanks guys, sound reasurring. The big one on his leg moves about easily and doesn't cause him any pain so fingers crossed x
