I've just collected Schmichael's ashes. I thought I would be upset but instead I feel strangely comforted to have him home, just where he belongs.

Over the past few days i've started to feel as if he's still here, watching over us all. I may not be able to see him but he lives on in my heart.

A few weeks ago, as I lay in bed, I looked over to where he was sat in my bedroom doorway and thought, I wonder how many people can say they are guarded by a rabbit as the sleep. I'm so lucky to have been loved by such a special little man.

I'm sorry to hear about Schmichael. It's always a comfort to know they are at home with you where they belong xx

That's completely understandable. When I lost my sow I couldn't move the hutch from where it was as it didn't quite feel right for a couple of weeks. It took me over a month to clean her bowls, water bottles, etc.

I am glad that having his ashes back is a comfort rather than upsetting you more...he was such a wonderful bunny, almost human in his ways!

May he always watch over you and your family x

I'm so pleased you have him back and having his ashes is a source of comfort. x

This thread has made me cry, yet again! I remember losing our beloved rabbit Harry. We had him back to bury and my dad wanted to see him one last time. I was inconsolable for months over it, infact I miss him still and whenever I go back to my parents house, I sense him in the garden getting upto mischief like only Harry could. I really do feel for you, I know how hard it is.

RIP little man, watch over your family and make sure they stay safe. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I love these pics of my boy!

Beautiful piccies, Debbie. May you sleep safely now with your guardian back where he belongs x

Lack of sleep is a terrible thing. Its hard to switch off, I find reading teletext makes me drop off, of all things! I hope you find something that helps.

Loving those photo's. He really was special. What is it about Bucks, they have a human quality about them.

Hope you get some sleep tonight Debbie.

Louise
x

Thanks Louise! I can fall asleep very easily, in fact the minute my head touches the pillow, but I wake after a two to three hours and then thats about it. I just doze on and off for the rest of the night.

Schmichael was my first male rabbit and there was definitely something quite human like about him. In fact I always said he was half human/half guinea pig! I'm sure he didn't realise he was a rabbit!

Debbie darling i'm so glad you've got the little man home again xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>
He'll always be in your heart and watching over you x) after all he is the "Guard" xx>>>
Bless these piccies i'm so pleased to have them saved on my computer as well xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Run free Schmichael, you will be so very sorely missed but never forgotten! you have touched so many peoples lives, none moreso than your mum x

He was a very handsome boy. I'm glad that Schmichael has returned home. I'm sorry for your loss too....
