We had a lovely little Yellow budgie when we were children, we were so upset when he passed on. We haven't had birds for years as we have always had a cat or more (much more) and it wasn't practical, or safe for the birds.
Y'know losing a pet bird is quite traumatic. I lost my Tweet this year I had him for 6years and he was a Rosa Bourke Parakeet. He was soo freindly and used to stand right up to the bars of his cage and make an "ack ack" noise if he saw the piggies running about. He used to tweet every night as soon as it got dark for me to pull the curtains and when I used to pull up in my car outside I used to hear him tweeting to let everyone else know I was coming! I found him one evening when I got home soaked in blood dont know what happened never will. Probably an embolism or something but he was alive and I called the vet and he said if I moved him he'd probably die of shock anyway. So I covered him over and kept talking to him, moved his food and water nearer to him and finally about 12.30am I heard him go............... I was in bits for days............
I had a budgie when I was a little girl. He was the first pet I ever had. He was lovely and he used to come out of his cage and fly around the room. He always came on holiday with us too! I am sure some people thought we were crazy!
We were all so upset when he passed away! He was blue and we called him Dafty because he did all sorts of silly things!
