My Cavvie Has A Lump On Its Rump And It Is Slightly Solid What Do I Do

Hi! Please see a vet.

There is quite a range of lumps, ranging from harmless fatty lumps to various cysts (mostly harmless), abscesses and benign or malign tumours. Only a vet can diagnose them and - if they need treating - do this appropriately; lumps always require a hands-on examination.

Harmless smaller lumps (which make the majority) can usually be left under observation unless they impede movement. But we cannot tell you what you are exactly dealing with, nor can any online site every replace a vet visit. We can only tell you when you need to see a vet; show you avanues to pursue and support you during treatment.

Hello and welcome.
As @Wiebke said - see a vet.
This is always a good rule with any concern.
A vet can reassure you if it’s not serious but if there is something that needs treatment it’s better to catch it quickly.
Please do let us see pics of your piggies

Definitely agree that the vet needs to diagnose the lump. It could be anything from a fatty lipoma, a fibroma, a sebaceous cyst (all harmless) to an infected site developing into an abscess. Until a vet has seen and diagnosed it the treatment won’t be clear. Some are simply left alone and monitored, others require surgery to remove. Please let us know how you get on at the vets.

Betsy has 2 small lumps and Christian has one that is about an inch in diameter. The vet said I should observe all lumps closely and weren't anything to worry about as they are not adhered to anything. This doesn't mean that all lumps that are not adhered to anything are OK obviously. Only a vet can diagnose that. I am keeping them under observation and at the weekly check they are throughly checked to see if there is any change at all. So far there hasn't been. Betsy has had her 2 small lumps for around a year and Christian his lump for about 6 months.

A vet check is essential so you know what you are dealing with.
