Ok, so most of you know about what happened with a guniea pig i bought recently, well i plucked up the courage to send a complaint, just to them at the mo, but will be contacting the SSPCA, got as reply at which I am NOT amused. Here is the whole thing:
I want to say I think you should change your logo to 'where we don't care about pet's'. I recently bought a Guinea pig from one of your stores, who sadlt had to be put to sleep. He had been ill for weeks before I got him and your staff hadn't picked up on it. I have also heard many bad stories similar lately! Also your staff try to sell the wrong things to people, eg. vitamin drops for water, they are toxic! Junior food for baby dogs, when the bag says for 8 months plus and they will argue with you that it's the right thing when it is NOT! Your staff also need to learn some customer service as it is appauling and also short staffed! I will not be using your stores again as I am sickened. Also dog toys where tiny batteries fall out, a dog could choke and die. Your stores need closing down!
Dear Mrs Anderson,
Many thanks for your email.
I am sorry to hear of the problems you have experienced with Pets at Home, unfortunately you do not mention which store you purchased your guinea pig. If you let me know I will certainly be able to invstigate this for you.
I can confirm that vitamin drops, pro - c are perfectly safe for small pets, in fact they have many pro-biotic benefits that can improve and prevent illness. In relation to the Junior food, you will find that this varies across brands however Junior foods can be fed to a puppy between 2 - 10 months of age dependant on breed and weight of the dog.
If you could pass on details of the store where you have received poor service again I will certainly investigate this with Area Manager and Regional Director of the store.
Once again I apologise for the upset caused, however please send me any details you can and I will get this investigate immediately.
Kind Regards,
so i replied again:
Hi Kate
Well what I can say is I have done my research and the issues I brought up with you are correct about vitamin drops and puppy food. I have also been doing my research about Pets at Home and have discovered many many horror stories which I know are being taken further right across the country, and I am also going to the SSPCA about my problems!
I am talking about the Ayr Branch from personal experience. When it comes to animals not being looked after properly, incorrect good being sold and dangerous good being sold it cannot be let lie!
Regards.
Julie Anderson
