my plan to get another piggie has worked my o/h and i are picking the piggie up tomorrow from a rescue in Sutton which is not that far away from us.
really getting excited now
one more sleep till piggie time.
we can get a neutered male or a female
what do you think i should get? , i have two girls at the minute

will post some pigtures tomorrow

Oooh that is fantastic news. Could you take your piggies to the rescue and let them choose?

If your two girls are under 18 months old, go for the boar - he won't upset the hierarchy and you stand a good chance that he will be accepted. This can get a bit trickier when the girls are older. Especially dominant sows may not like a male around. The only way is to try and see. Best take your two girls if possible and try a short intro at the boar's place - with a male, problems will usually become obvious right at the beginning.

With another sow you may be faced with the problem that she can end up as an outsider who may be excluded by the two others. However, if the boar is not an option, the girl has a much better chance of being accepted, especially if she is younger and not in a position to challenge for top sow.

i would like you to meet Hamish our new member of the family.he is 9 months old and has been neutered as well
there was some rumbling from all of the piggies when they first met but soon where sharing hay and some veggies. could anybody tell me which breed he is thanks
