Junior Guinea Pig
I wanted a little 'treat' platform for my guinea max and thought instead of buying one why not make it myself, it was a success and i thought i would share how to make it .
what you will need:
1 piece of 60cmx25cm ply wood
1 thick piece of ply wood about 15cm x15cm
3 screws
3 nails
Pet safe paint
3 thin bits of kindling or ply wood 25cm x 3cm
1 simple hinge
At least 1 guinea pig!
Lots of vegetables and treats
1. Get a flat, smooth piece of plywood wood about 60cm long,25cm wide and 2cm or 3cm thick ,(this will be called wood no.1) as as well as a significantly thicker piece, this should be about 15cm x 15cm (and will be called wood piece no.2).
wood piece no.1:
2. Use a saw and cut wood no.1 at roughly 33cm, the larger bit will be the top, but the smaller will be the ramp and be called wood no.3.
3.File it down as to ensure no splinters.
4.Place wood no.2 on the smaller edge of wood no.1 get three screws and and use them to attach the pieces together.
5. Cut up 3 pieces of thin plywood 25cmx3cm nail them on to wood piece no.3 this will create a ramp.
6. Use a simple hinge to attach wood piece no.1 and no.3 together (the hinge should go on the same side wood no.2)
This is what the BOTTOM should look like:
7. Now you must drill a large hole at the bottom of the base , a tent peg (or anything else that will do a similar job )will go through that to keep the platform extra stable.
It should look like this:
8. Now your almost done, you should decorate it with pet safe paint.
9. Finally put some treats on top and now you have your own pet feeding platform which pigs can also hide under.
