I wish I was here on a cheerier note. This morning Flapjack was not doing good. After a vet trip they told us it was either a spinal infection, a neurological issue that she was born with or swelling in the brain. Unfortunately the decision was made to put her down. It was just so awful to see her suffer like that. I feel a bit hopeless now. I only had her for 12 weeks and she was so young. I loved the time I had with her and I hope she had a wonderful time with me. I’ve attached a picture from when I first had them, (Flapjack is the beige one). I’m not really sure what to do to help Acorn now. She must be so confused.A331FB9D-C7D1-4F92-A89E-04AE0513B28C.webp

So sorry for your loss.
I lost a young piggy to a brain tumour some years ago and it is devastating.
Allowing Flapjack to be pts was the best gift of love you could give her.
Be patient and gentle with yourself as you grieve.
Acorn will also grieve in her own way but within a day or so should be getting on with the business of surviving.
She will be lonely though so be prepared for her to be quieter and more subdued.
You have options for a suitable companion.
A rescue pig who can be matched with via a dating visit is probably best if you live close enough to a rescue.

That is my plan eventually to get her a buddy. Since Flapjack didn’t pass with acorn I think she may be slightly confused as to why her buddy has just disappeared. I am keeping a close eye on her. Thank you for the encouraging message, it feels like it’s been a long day

Rest in peace Flapjack. Good luck finding Acorn a friend when the time feels right. Thanks for your oost on Primrose's thread.

So sorry for your loss. It always a heartbreaking decision to let them go, but you gave her the most loving gift.
Sleep tight little Flapjack.xx

I am so sorry for your loss, PTS is often the last act of love we can do for our little ones, I am really sorry you had to make that decision but it would have been the right one for sure. Hugs

Sleep well pretty piggy

RIP Flapjack

I am so sorry to hear your sad news. PTS is such a horrible decision to have to make, sending you hugs.
RIP sweet Flapjack.

I am so very sorry for your loss. You’ve been called to make the toughest decision we ever have to make. Big hugs.

Hi. Wow lump in my throat writing this.
No piggie should suffer and if the choice is pts that's what we must do. It's sad you only had few weeks together and clearly a bond was forming so it's very hurtful.
Acorn really needs you now and you got to together help each other and if I was you it be defo another piggie comin.
Sorry RIP Flapjack.

Yes, acorn is going to get a buddy, I’m going on holiday next week and Acorn is going to a relative. My plan is to go to a shelter after the holiday so I can be there to make sure they bond well. And thank you for the support it was so shocking and still doesn’t really feel real. I’ve been cuddling acorn so much and she really seems to appreciate it. Thanks again x
