Cuddles seemed to be quite happy to just sit on her lap and be stroked while I cleaned out their cage!

If they're not happy being held is there a way to tell? She seemed relaxed enough.

Cuddles looks quite relaxed. If they are not, you can usually tell - they go either very stiff or are wiggly/nippy and look generally uncomfortable.

When holding a piggy, pay attentiont when it starts becoming wiggly, nippy or starts pullling on fabric - it's usually a sign that they have had enough or urgently need to go on the toilet!

PS: Lovely picture! x)

Ah ok, she didn't go wiggy or do anything! I put her back in the cage after about ½ an hour but she seemed fine. It's a very good sign as she is a lot more timid than Fudge!

You can usually tell as well when you put them back - do they dart under the closest cover or just amble away and perhaps have a little shake?

She darted under the yellow hidey thing but half a minute later came out and had some food.

So does that mean she didn't like it?

Awwww that pictures so sweet! x) I can usually tell when my guinea pigs are uncomfortable, they start doing high pitched squeeks! :... It's quite scary actually cos it usually means they're in pain! :{ It never happens when i'm holding them though, just with my friends! I have to come to the Guinea Pig's rescue! :)
