Wow. I really can’t believe I’m writing a tribute to my Eddie. He was my amazing Border Terrier. I’m sure I’m not going to be able to do him justice. Words just can’t portray how amazing he was and how much he was loved. We gave him everything. And he still managed to give us more. He reached a grand old age of sixteen and a half. And it still wasn’t enough. I want him back. I can’t think of one thing that he did that he shouldn’t of. He was so good. I miss him barking at me at 9pm to go to bed. I miss him following me everywhere. We used to joke that he was attached to me by his umbilical cord. I miss giving him cucumber when I was preparing the piggy snacks. We shared a birthday. My only consolation is that he didn’t suffer too long and that we gave him a dignified end.

He started to have fits and was quickly diagnosed with a brain tumour. There was never going to be a happy ending but we thought he might have a few happy weeks with us but sadly this wasn’t the case. Within two days he was so exhausted with the extra brain activity we had to make the heartbreaking decision to help him over the bridge.

I hope you understand and forgive us Eddie. Our decisions were made with love.

Please be waiting at the bridge when its my turn Eddie. You were one in a trillion.

Sending hugs you need them just think of the good times you had with Eddie and like i did with my guinea pigs when passed away is get a good photo and put it in a locket and Wear it around your neck because then you will feel that Eddie is with you all the time, God bless, and R.I.P Eddie

There's no real words to comfort you following the loss of such a longstanding and devoted companion. It sounds as though he was made for you and vice versa. He lived his best life with you and you loved him enough to help him leave this earth to avoid any further suffering. I am so sorry for your loss xx

I am so sorry to hear you didn't get longer with Eddie and that you had to let him go. Eddie knew he was loved it's why he was so good through out his life he got all the love and attention he needed. Sending you hugs.

I'm so sorry for your loss. That was such a beautiful tribute to your precious Eddie. He had an amazing life and you did your absolute best for him. He was clearly very loved and well cared for and I'm sure he knew it. Take care of yourself as you grieve for your beautiful boy.

I read this tribute to my husband today and it made him cry. 😕.
 
It's the last act of kindness we can do for our furry friends. Run free Eddie, keep Beau company for me ❤️

Beau would tell Eddie off for chasing the poor squirrel. In Beau's eyes, everything/everyone is a friend, even if you haven't met them yet. He was the protector of hedgehogs, people pleaser, had the patience of a saint...he was Beau. I do miss my little sheep and his little antics. I won't clutter your thread, but photos are here: My crew
