OK here's the story of what happened in the last 15 minutes: Over here in OZ, it's 7:36pm. Because it is winter, it is already dark. Now I had a feeling I needed to check on my piggies, so I cut up some cucumber (they get angry at me if I come to them empty-handed) and went down to the 'piggie shelter' outside. All of a sudden, in the midst of all the fog, I saw a flash of white go past my feet. I gasped and prayed desperately that I was hallucinating, and my precious piggie Moe was not out of his cage. I checked their cage and Patch was there, quietly eating hay, with the latch open. But Moe was nowhere to be seen! Suddenly I heard the chomping of hay coming from the direction of the hay bale. I screamed for my dad to get a torch, and he was there in seconds. I swept the beam around under Koko's cage which is on top of the bale suspended by a stand. Sure enough, he was there. I ripped some grass out of the ground and tried to lure him closer, and, as sure as you can be when it comes to piggies and food, he came close ;D. I quickly picked him up and cuddled him, telling him never to do that again. Hopefully he won't, it gave the whole family quite a scare. After I checked him over for injuries and he was fine, we had a bit of a laugh at what a close shave it had been. Funny how my piggies never leave the piggie shelter, they would always hang around the others.

Wow, good thing you had the urge to visit them to check everything was okay! What an adventure! Still, he was okay, thank goodness!

Glad the little un was safely caught. :)
The sight of the hay bale was probably too tempting, prompting the pig out. :)

Yes I'm sure he was rather tempted. It strange how you have the urge to go out there. That happens to me alot, having the urge to do something then something else is happening when i get there

Good thing you found him unscathed...

My Scamp escaped once...ran through the garden and under the fence. So I run round quickly to see her just on the other side staring up at me in an "I'm innocent" kind of manner so I reach out my hands to grab her and she runs behind a pile of bricks. So after getting the neighbours help and permission we dismantle the brick pile and find her tucked in a little hole in it nibbling on some grass :D. I was lucky but I've become a lot more careful since that I'm just thankful that no bricks had been dislodged and crushed her :'(

Pigs are crafty little animals aren't they :smitten:

My old guinea's *speedy and snugles* where like that! I think Snuggles new the ins and outs of our street because every day he would get out!

One night though I went to close them up ,, Looked inside and speedy was happily eating on the carrot i gave them. Snuggles was nowhere to be seen! Where the guineas cage was there was a hole leading to our next door neighbour. We informed them and put food next to the hole. My mum went to get me a drink and I went inside to get a jacket. I come back. The food has only gone! So we put speedy out and he was squeaking and we heard another sqeak. We look under their cage and there is snuggles ;D he was there all along!

wow! that was a close shave! my bluebelle got out of the run once, but at least it was light! it makes you so worked up though! well done for getting him back! :o

The poor baby, i once lost a syrian hamster out of his cage and he was living in a hole in our airing cupboard. i got him back by placing a piece of wood like a ramp against a deep enough bucket so that he couldnt jump back out, and lots of food in the bucket, he fell for it the first night lol Hope you get your piggy back soon :-*

Oh I got him back, no worries. If I hadnt, I would be posting something like 'EMERGENCY!' Lol :smitten:
Some really interesting stories here. Maybe we should start a thread about piggie escapees....but then we already kinda have ;D ;D
