Just looked up the breeders website where I got my piggie from...

When I got him, I feared he had simply been bred from and then got rid of, which was why I took him..

It's true 8... 8...

Just seen a baby on there with my Wellington names as the father :( :(

It is pretty par for the course if you rehome a breeder piggy that is not a baby; many older single boars ending up in the adoption section of shops or in rescues are sadly no longer wanted ex-studs.

At least, Wellington will now have a good life with you! Has he got a companion?

Yes, he is with Bruno. They love eachother drool

My lovely Billy was an ex-stud and when the breeder had had enough he was passed on to a rescue. He had never been part of a loving family before and so clearly loves fuss and cuddles, although it's taken him a while to realise how nice life can be.

This is reality many stud boars end up in rescues, my Greg is one and he has had the most lovely life with us.
Where ever they are from there will always be a problem with unwanted guinea pigs its breeding for profit that causes the majority of the problem.
I try an rehome as many boars from the public as i can through our rescue as they have the right to a forever loving homes with friends, especially if they have been used for breeding, thats not their fault.xx>>>xx>>>

He does have a very loving home now, so I am still glad I got him :)
