Sorry for the long post..... hope you enjoy the piccies :)

Great to see your furry family!

Melanie and Mavis are massive!

Totally adore Bandit, what a dude x) Hope his dental work goes well. Spook and Clive are gorgeous too.

Thanks for sharing them with us!

They are all gorgeous but I am very intrigued about Mavis and Melanie. Tell us more? Where do they live and what do they eat (or how much I would say)?

Mavis and Melanie were rescued from Brixton Market in London.....(not by me personally)...They import over to sell for food and leave them piled high in grotty baskets....alot of them don't survive the conditions :(

My 2 are kept in 2 foot tank that contains soil and sphagnum moss and they eat lots of veg and salad everyday....they get taken out of the tank quite often as they do enjoy a warm bath and a good old slime about the sink! :)

Poor things.. Glad they ended up with you. They are soon to share their veg and salad with pigs then! :)) What sort of lifespan do they have? Do you need a heated tank or anything special?

That's fascinating! I have to say I didn't know snails that big existed or that they existed in London markets as food. I lived in Camberwell (close to Brixton) for a while.

It's so sad the things people do to animals :(

Yes, terribly sad. It's especially bad here in the middle of the USA; some of the largest issues at voting time concern whether or not to pass this law or that law to enact penalties for abuse of animals. One would think good husbandry would come automatically, but you simply would not believe the number of people who are against treating animals well and want no part of such restrictive laws!

Yes their tank is heated.... got 3 heat mats on it and bubble wrap to keep the heat in..... they live in the living room!.....They can live about 5-7 years....:)
