New Born Pup
Two nights ago I noticed that my girl Diasy wasnt eating or drinking (about 4 months old) and so I called to make a vet appointment. The exotic vet I normally go to were booked out for weeks, so i called many other plces. I was able to get the soonest appointment as tomorrow. This morning before I left for work, my girl had snot all over her nose and I syringe fed her water and tried giving her some bell pepper (her favorite). She ate tbe whole bell pepper and some pellets and was acting fine.
When I returned home from work I was greeted by her laying on her side in her cage. I started freaking out to check on her and she wasn't breathing or moving. I feel so awful that I might of killed her by syringe feeding her water (i was concerned because she hadnt been eating or drinking) and I feel sick everytime I walk past her cage. My boyfriend is going to help me bury and clean out her cage when he gets home because I feel so sick even trying to pick her up to put her to rest. Did I hurt her or kill her by giving her the water? I just wanted what was best for her and I feel so guilty. I've never had a pet die and I feel awful and terrible and I'm just wondering if there was anything else I could've done ti prevent this because I have two other older guinea pigs and I don't want them to go either.
