So I finally picked up my piggies tonight, they are obviously very scared but they seem pretty ok with humans. They came from a big herd so i hope they get more tame.
Bubsy i will name the older girl, the ginger one, she is about 1 year old. She isn't very tame but i hope she will come around with time.
I am going with Kiara for the little brown curly girl, and Ursula for the black/white girl. They were born on the 28th August, so about 6 weeks old (my maths is bad!)
Kiara has had some skin problems, the owner used a fungus cream on it and it is getting better and her hair is growing back over the patch it was bad, which was on her back. She has also got a bald patch on her head you can see here which i guess is from the fungal infection too.

They were accidental babies, the owner didn't breed for selling. But she keeps lots of animals.

Anyway, here they are! hiding in the box i brought them home in.

They have been put in their cage all ready for them, and they have all huddled together in the veggie box i cut holes in for them. I haven't heard a noise yet.

Aww they're lovely. If you need any help with the fungal condition going forwards just shout.

Thank you! I am new to guinea pigs i have only had chinchillas so i don't really know how to deal with something like that, but i hope as the lady said that she is on the mend and it should heal now. Any idea why this would have happened in the first place?

They're very pretty - it will take them a little time to settle and get used to you, but you'll be so pleased to have them.

Aw they are stunning! It will take sometime for them to get comfortable with their surroundings and you but they should settle in soon! It's best to just leave them be, as much as you can, for a few days. Can't wait to see more pigtures! Enjoy your new piggies!

thanks everyone! I am in love <3 they are all snuggled together still in the back of the box, i hope they get along. the two babies are sisters, but the older girl Bubsy was in a separate cage.

congratulations on your beautiful piggies! And how wonderful that you were able to rescue them!

Bissau came to us with a similar fungal infection. We took her to the vet right away, and she was given Otomax (Malotic) that we applied twice a day for 2 weeks topically, and Albon Suspension, .5cc for 10 days. (This was in the US, so drugs may have different names, or they may use different drugs in the UK). By the end of the 2 weeks, she was doing great, though it did take a little while for the hair to grow back even after the infection was gone (which was most troubling to her - she is VERY much a girl, and was always fixing her "funny hair" in the mirror!)

anyway, wishing you and your new additions all the best! Welcome, Busby, Kiaia, and Ursula (which is an awesome name!)

It can be a mixture of things, most common is Candidiasis which is an overload of Candida in the gut, or it could be ringworm but I would hope they would have told you if it was that. It sounds promising that she is responding to treatment, but if it resurfaces post on here and we can advise what to discuss with your vet.

thank you! I want to have a look at the patch on her back but i will leave her for the weekend, then i can keep an eye on it and see if it is getting better or worse. The lady seemed to think it was on its way out so i hope it is. She is such a quick little piggie it was hard getting her out of the box! Think she is going to be a trouble maker haha

Aww bless them x) love their names! They are gorgeous, congratulations.

Congrats on your new girls. I love the little brown fuzzy girl- she is adorable with her little mousey face. :)

Gorgeous girls, lovely pigtures.. drool xoxo

x) They are gorgeous! Looking forward to seeing more pigtures when they've settled down :))

thanks everyone!

So its my first morning with them, i heard them throughout the night squeaking REALLY loudly! i did not know they can get so loud! I crept out the bedroom to see Ursula in the kitchen area and the hay is nearly gone which is good, i am glad they found their way to it. I just cleared out some poos off the fleece, noticed a pee spot on the sawdust in the kitchen, also good! I have now put in some cauliflower leaves and asparagus stalks i saved from last nights dinner, Bubsy has showed her face and i can hear nibbling <3

I just cleared the corner they are all hiding it, as they had burrowed under the fleece, i put an extra towel there for them as they were weeing too. But there was a piece of asparagus that had been nibbled and it had blood on it?! Any idea why? Are the baby girls gums soft, is this normal? And they make this low noise almost like a pigeon, what does that mean?

What about high pitched squeaking like i could hear in the night? and they did it when i come home today after popping out to the market to get them some veggies.

Here is a pigture of Bubsy creeping out for the veg

I'm thinking that the high pitched squealing might be them wheeking. They probably already know that you're the bringer of food and a slave lol.

maybe! they do it a lot, and i have seen them do it and shove one another out of the boxes. I have just put in their dinner, Bubsy nicked a piece of pepper i put near the box and Ursula was trying to nick it from her!

And here is a Ursula earlier today she was eating, Kiara was with her too at one point but she is too quick!

beautiful piggies :D

they are so sweet! They are coming out of their hideys more, whether it is just the food or whether they are getting used to us already i don't know. But we have been in nearly all day and had some music on and it doesn't seem to phase them. The only thing i have watched on several occasions is if Bubsy goes near Ursula she squeaks really loudly and high pitched, and she often seems to run into another hidey if Bubsy is in one.

So today I couldn't resist, i have had cuddles with them all! Bubsy peed on me aswell. Seems i should get used to it!

here is Kiara and Ursula. Ursula was very scared still and hardly didn't move, i think have Kiara there made her a bit better. No one will eat the food on my lap yet though.

They are beautiful. Do not worry about them not taking food from you yet as that is natural piggy BG behaviour.

They are gorgeous! Good luck with them. I find it quite stressful in the first couple of weeks with new animals, always watching them for illness etc. I hope the fungal infection clears up but they can be annoyingly persistent I find.
