My girls confuse and confound me!

Well since moving to my mums for a week, the girls having being living in a hutch and not a c&c cage and they have been bought a new run which is a puppy pen with a lid and removable bottom so can be used inside and out:))

Well they now will sleep out in the open in the hutch in the utility room they never do this at home! they have been going out in the run in the garden with lots of yummy green grass and i have had to go out moving the tunnel or they just sat in there together hiding. Brought the run into the lounge today, put lots of newspaper down and they are running round like loonies, chattering away and coming over to the door to look at me, and i have gone out into the rain to pick the grass for them. They obviously prefer the feel of newspaper underfoot and hand picked grass rolleyes
 
If that is the only thing they have ever known, they will enjoy it! Obviously, the idea of having grass underfood and picking it themselves is new to them, but they will get it.

Don't underestimate the impact all the new smells, sounds and a new territory are making on them. If you can put a towel over the top of the run when it is on the lawn, will make it easier on them, as piggies are very wary of open places - birds of prey are one of their main predator, and it's wired deeply into their instincts.
 
nope i am pretty sure they were outdoor piggies before they were mine and the run has a material mesh lid but may try putting a sheet over the top as it is quite big 1.5m diameter circle, it is so nice to see them back to their happy chirpy selves and as a result they are getting a bit spoilt with their veggies
 
Maybe they're fair weather piggies and like it to be summer before they set paw outdoors? :))

Glad they are enjoying their new environment and having a Piggy Slave at their beck and call ;)
 
they are now fighting over the same apple stick even though i put three is to avoid arguements..... tug of war guinea pig style though at one point i thought they were tossing cabers! I think they like the tv
 
Ok well we are back out in the garden today with a towl on top of the run and that has seemed to do the trick they were much happier and just wandering round eating grass
