Hi I'm new by the way but i wanted to find a chat especially for guinea pigs well yes my girls had a fight today while i was cleaning their cage and this never happens they’re usually fine and getting along but my first/oldest guinea pig decided to attack her sister and my guinea pigs are like my kids so yes they’re sisters in my world but never mind that it really scared me i was even scared to pick one to separate them because this never happened before and i have anxiety so my nerves are bad i even cried ive decided to separate them for now my oldest shes more aggressive than the other one actually the other one is a sweetheart and dont give me any issues shes always been aggressive since after 3 months when i got her and i read and did everything to help her aggression and stop everything that will make her aggressive according to goggle 🙄😂 also I only had her for 10 months so I'm still new kind of to being a guinea pig owner and still learning about them I really need some guidance

Hi!

How old are your girls? It sounds like your problem girl may have overreacted while on edge.
Sows: Behaviour and female health problems (including ovarian cysts)

Please try a temporary separation and re-intro on neutral ground to see whether your quiet girl is happier away from her mate or whether she still wants to be with her. Follow the advice in the guide.
Bonds In Trouble
Moody guinea pigs: Depression, Bullying, Aggression, Stress, Fear and Antisocial Behaviour

Hello valentineandtrufflemom oh that’s awful for you - I’m not very experienced with guinea pigs fighting etc .
there are guides relating to bonding and behaviour on this site so have a read of them - I’m sure some of the more experienced forum members will be able to advise you. It is very difficult and try not to get upset. I think you are right to separate them for the time being but allow them to still be able to see each other. Take care
