I have seen several threads recently in which people are a little worried about whether their piggy has lost too much weight over a short time period and as I was weighing them anyway today, I decided to do a little 'experiment'.
I first weighed them at around 3PM so several hours after they had eaten their breakfast. Their weights were:
Rosie: 837g
Ruby:1226g
Esme: 1198g
Tia: 917g
I then popped them on the grass for about an hour or so whilst I thoroughly cleaned their cage and then weighed them again.
Rosie: 835g (so a loss of 2g)
Ruby: 1254g (so a gain of 28g)
Esme: 1232g (so a gain of 34g)
Tia: 929g (so a small gain of 12g)
So generally full tummies all round! It also shows the importance of weighing at the same time of day!
And a little photo of Tia!
