Hi all, well I'm sad to report that on monday Cinderella had to be PTS
Cindy had Myco for a long time and for those that don't know it basically means she sneezes red liquid and the effects are like a bad cold at times and gradually get worse over time, she also in the last few months developed arthritis in all of her legs, had URI issues which developed into pneumonia and was losing her balance in the last few weeks which i think was due to a minor stroke.
Despite all of this my poor girl refused to give up and fought harder than any small animal i have ever had, she was so bright spirited in fact that i couldnt justify ending her life so we changed her medication and upped her pain meds to make her more comfy instead in the hope that she would go naturally when she was ready, sadly this only worked for about a week and then Cindy started to lose that spark that she is famous for having and lost even more weight, still no matter what her favourite thing in the world was cuddle time with tony and myself, she preferred that even over the company of the baby rat that i bonded her with a few weeks ago, she was just so human and a huge part of tony and myself even as she has been around since almost the start of our relationship.
Cindy seemed down when her friend snow died not to long ago so sadly i think that was the final straw of her health.
Cindy was gorgeous and even right up until the end even struggling to walk and having difficulty breathing she still gave me kisses on the cheek, she went very peacefully, i just hope she knows how much we loved her and that we did it to take her out of pain, i still dont believe she wanted to leave but if i had of let her continue i can guarantee she would have died a lengthy/painful death, and i just couldnt do that to her.
I miss her so much,i even have what i call the cindy dance which gets her really excited normally, and stupidly i forgot she was gone and i went to do that yesterday and instead had 9 ratties looking at me very confused.
i just wish small animals lived longer as the impact they make feels like they have been around forever.
