My male guinea pig is about a year old now. We use styrofoam insulation for them to stay warm, but when I was holding him, he nibbled off a small piece (about the size of 2 to 3 food pellets-tiny). He is not showing any signs if discomfort and is still eating/drinking normally, but I am wondering if he will be okay or if he may get sick.

Don’t be too worried. As long as he’s eating, drinking and passing normal poos he will be fine!

Thank you! I have read other articles saying to check their poop, but everything seems normal.

Haha i've heard so many stories about pigs eating tons of weird things... they are usually just fine :)

Oh they can be a nightmare for eating things they shouldn't. I'm the naughty piggy mum that left a dustpan too close to their cage and the hay bag so they nibbled a hole in the plastic hay bag (because that hay is clearly better than the same stuff that's been placed in their cage) and eaten half the rubber edge to the dustpan. Luckily no ill effects!
