My guinea pig died from a misdiagnosed bloat by a veterinary nurse

For Maggie my guinea pig,The veterinary nurse in Wellington somerset vets failed to check her over,
Or even weigh her she depended of the previous days weight for the meds. She listen for her guts sounds slowing down and even that after an operation 5 days before did not flag anything up for her. Is seemed more of a bother to her than her job.

I am so very sorry for your loss. When we lose one of our furry family members, it is very common to experience feelings of anger, guilt, and upset at the way that they and we have been treated. You may, in time, decide that you would like to make a complaint about the way that you and your girl were treated by the Vet practice, but at the moment it is probably all still very raw for you.

Please feel free to leave a tribute to your beloved girl in our rainbow Bridge section of the forum. We are here to support you.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your baby and its even harder when you you feel it could have been prevented.

Definitely take some time to grieve and when you are in a better place you may want to make a complaint.

I must admit I am a little suprised that your piggie was seen by a nurse, none of my pigs have ever been seen by a nurse, they have only ever seen vets. I've only ever processed intake forms with a nurse, so does seem a little strange - but I've been at the same vets for decades so it may be different in other practices.

Sending you lots of hugs xx

So sorry for your loss.
I agree with what has already been said, give yourself a few days and then decide if you want to make a complaint.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve
