Hey everyone, been a while since I posted, my youngest guinea pig cookie just died this morning from pneumonia and I'm not sure where to look for cremation, we decided cremating her would be best because we have a lot of foxes in my area so I wouldn't want to bury her and she gets eaten up, does anyone know of any good places? Thank you in advance for any suggestions, it is highly appreciated 💞

I'm so sorry for your loss.
If you could update your profile with you location then somebody may be able to help.

I’m so sorry for your loss :( Your vet practice should have a cremation service that they use and recommend so you could try asking them
Thank you, we were looking at the pets at home but there's nothing so far :(

What area do you live in roughly?

Pets at Home won't offer this type of service - you nest bet would be to call the local vet and they can tell you which place they use.
Our vet actually offers a pick up and drop off service too if you need that so worth asking them.

Pets at home won’t offer this service although vets 4 pets might. Your best to phone your local vet and ask them who they use. Like @Swissgreys my vet offers a pick up and drop off service so all you do is take your deceased piggy to them, the cremation people collect the piggy and then drop the ashes back at the vets once the cremation has taken place and you collect the ashes from the vets

Hi!

I am very sorry about your loss. However, since we have members from all over the world, we can't answer your question without you giving us a country and general area (and sorry, but we are seeing too many different threads every day to remember any smaller details at all or for long) or by you googling yourself for pet crematoria in your area - this is often the cheapest way.

Many vets will also provide a service to have pets taken to a contract cremation centre; you will be notified when the urn is ready for collection at your vet's. You can alway call your vet clinic for more information in this respect, including how much this will cost you.

Our grieving guide has got a chapter on this topic: Human Bereavement: Grieving, Coping and Support Links for Guinea Pig Owners and Their Children

Look online for pet crematoriums in your area. I take mine to a local pet crematorium which is much cheaper than the vets for an individual cremation. Mass cremations are cheaper but you don’t necessarily get your own animals ashes back.

My friend ran a pet cemetery, and yes at time did muilt cemeteries, each body was laid to a plan, with their name and species on a written plan, at the end ,each pile of Ash would be carefully sweeped up individually and placed in its caste, the owner would 100% get back their pets.

UPDATE! The other day we managed to find somewhere to send her, we will receive her ashes in 2 weeks, sorry I've been a bit busy and didn't get the chance to reply but thank you all for your support 😊
