So I just saw my guinea pigs with an unusually large testicle. I do not know what this means. I need someone to tell me what's wrong with my baby.

It looks like it could be an abscess. Sven just had one removed, although his was after being neutered so it was an infection after surgery. I would get him to the vet as soon as you can.F9E85917-2CF2-4885-A3B3-10BDD7EA0FBF.webp

You need to see a vet as soon as you can as that looks like it could be a bit sore. If it is an abscess (only a vet can tell you) Your piggy will most likely need an operation to remove it. Christian had an abscess removed 4 weeks ago and with a lot of aftercare he is fine now. This is the size of his abscess (it tripled in size in about 10 days!) and was close to popping so it's important to get them removed as soon as possible.

Please see a vet promptly! It is likely an abscess, but it can be something more serious, which only a hands-on examination can tell and likely an operation can remove. It must be very uncomfortable for your boy!

I agree, he certainly needs a very ASAP! This is no doubt very painful and could stop him toileting properly.

Ouch that looks so uncomfortable. Please let us know how he gets on at the vets.

So I set up an appointment to the vet but I got canceled I am trying to set up another one that I can do on my off days but I am still looking for a vet that is open. Here is what it looks like now.20180708_230827.webp Please tell me how much more time I have until it pops.

You need to see a vet as an emergency that looks really sore and painful for your poor boy,

Please call your vet and tell them this is an emergency. Untreated abscesses can be fatal

I really don’t think that this is a routine issue that can wait for a convenient time for the vet. This is looking more urgent and needs to be seen ASAP. The vet needs to know that it is an emergency and fit you in.

Just to let you know about the importance of having abscesses removed as quickly as possible, from the time the vet diagnosed an abscess to the time of the operation to remove it, about 7 to 10 days, Christian's abscess grew from about the size of the top of your thumb to this big

In places it was one cell thick and could have burst at any time leading to a very nasty and painful death! That abscess was full of pus and was completely disgusting! Christian's abscess being cut open WARNING DO NOT WATCH IF YOU ARE SQUEAMISH!. The vet nearly phoned me twice for permission to pts as it had adhered to almost every internal structure including Christian's willy, bowel, femoral artery and stomach.

YOU NEED TO SEE YOUR VET TODAY IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR GUINEA PIG ALIVE!

please get him seen today! He’s probably been in pain for over a week now and he needs urgent medical attention! Good luck at the vets.
