One of my guinea pigs has sneezed a couple of times today and snot came out of his nose on those occasions. Should this be a grave concern which may potentially get worse?

He seems pretty healthy otherwise.

Hi welcome to the forum. It may be allergies or dust but as there is snot it is worth getting him checked by a vet as it could be the start of an upper respiratory infection.

Please could you update your location on your profile so we can tailor our advice depending on where you live. If you are a minor then the country only is fine.

I reside in Yorkshire, Leeds specifically. I was planning to take him and his brother around the 12th of July to a Vet's that is having a celebration and giving free pet health check ups and thought I would utilize it. I am not a minor, but money is very tight at the moment. If this could potentially be a huge problem for his health, I could perhaps make an exception.

If it is the start of a URI, then he would need to see the vet sooner rather than later as these things can progress quickly. If you take then both, you'd only pay on consult fee. The vet may give him antibiotics, which would be an additional cost.

I agree with the others, sounds like a small cold or the start of a URI, hope the little guy gets better soon xx
