Eyebrows my Piggy is really poorly. The vet now thinks it's bladder stones. He his staying at the vets over night and they are going to xray him. I am so sad because he is in pain.

I've got to go now xx8...8...8...8...

Aw no.

Do let us know what they turn out to be as I am going through a bladder stone crisis right now with one of my piggies and have had alot of help and information passed my way.
Also see if you can get a piccy of the x-ray if they are stones there - I took some of mine and they really help.

Fingers crossed for you there is nothing major though
xx

awwww hope hes okay and the vet find nothing serious x

If you have a good vet, he can make a good recovery. My Barney did, xx

BIG HUG

It very much depends on where the bladder stones sits, but if it is operable, you are in with a good chance!

It is in the bladder. It is operable. It is the convelescence period after.
What do I do?

Hi!

Aw bless. That's good new though if they can operate.

Has the piggy had an X-ray then?

There are many things to do afterwards. I would, personally, suggest contacting Laura who runs a Guinea Pig Helpline who will be able to send you definitive advice on the medication and food the piggy will need after the op, plus a syring feeding advice sheet (v helpful).

My piggy has just been suffering from stones and it's been 6 weeks of hard work and learning and I wished I had joined this forum before she got as bad as she did.

The website is: www.guineapighelpline.com.

She has recently lost of one her own piggies so may be a bit delayed in replying, but she will advise.

I have learned alot from mine having stones and know alot of what to give, but she could probably tell you alot simpler than me
xx

Thank you for all of your kind replies. Sadly Eyebrows died today. He became very ill Sunday night and hemeraged blood. This morning I found him looking in total pain. I made the decision to PTS. He had lost 300g in weight rapidly and was bleeding a lot. It wasn't kind to him and he certainly wouldn't have survived the operation.

He was too good for this Earth. Goodnight my little darling. xx

I am so sorry for you. It must have been so harrowing!

RIP Eyebrows - popcorn free of pain again!

Thank you all. I don't know what to do. He was the one that would snuggle on me for ages, with the back leg out totally relaxed.

I am now wondering what will happen to his brother and sister because they're mother died of the same thing Eyebrows.?/?/

aww how sad, i have only ever seen one piggy called eyebrows and now hes left us........those blooming bladder stones keep popping up on this forum!

Rip Eyebrows...so sorry for your loss, now your baby will be pain free guaranteed xxxxxx

Aw no, poor little eyebrows :( . You did the right thing to think of his pain even though it was such a hard decision. Big hugs and he can join my little Pootle over the Rainbow Bridge while they wait for us xx

P.s I'm not sure what you r doing at the moment to help reduce the stones but if you want to chat more about it, then just let me know. There is loads of help here to cover all the bases re diet and medication but it's one if those that sometimes, they can just be prone to them :( .
I'm looking into it all for my other piggies

Hugs xx
