One of my guinea pigs is itching and scratching loads I have been treating him with the anti parasite spot on, but he just keeps scratching. I have also gave him a bath recently? That seemed to stop it for a bit but then he was itching again!
Any ideas on what is wrong and what I can do?

Did you take him to the vet for correct diagnosis and treatment? If not, please do so.

Do be aware that a spot on which isn’t prescribed by a vet and is purchased from a pet shop is not likely to be effective. They aren’t strong enough to deal with a parasite problem, but you also can’t diagnose the issue yourself so don’t know if you are dealing with the right thing .

I phoned the vets a while back and they suggested buying the spot on treatment from a shop, as at the time they were shut because of COVID! I phone them again and see what they suggest! At the time it got rid of the scratching!

Shop bought medicine won’t have the same strength and so is unlikely to work. You should get them to the vet or speak to them over the phone. But a check is needed.
