I dont know what is happening to my guinea pig. I think she is sick, she isnt moving much. She will stay in one spot and not be in her house for about an hour. That isnt normal for her. She is also refusing to eat or drink, i got her to eat some red pepper this morning but other than that she hasnt eaten. We have also been trying to syringe water to her and ahe doesnt really want that. I am very scared for her. Please reply if you think she is sick or not, or any way you think she could have gotten sick.

She’s definitely sick and needs to see a vet ASAP.Have you been syringe feeding her?

I have been syringe feesing her water but not foos

I dont think any of the vets near me do anything with guinea pigs

Describe your cage how big it is and what not. Is it in a hunched position? does it have any discharged or gunk in its face? Does it urinate well or at all? Does it eat or drink? What diet does it have? Do you know the histry of were you got this guinea pig. Try to look out for this and make sure to do as much as research as possible, since it's hard for you to reach a proper vet. Hope your piggie feels better..:tu:

You need to start syringe feeding NOW just to keep your piggy alive. There is a complete syringe feeding guide in the guides at the top of the page. Also get your piggy to a vet a matter of urgency. There is a vet locator at the top of the page.

Please start syringe feeding or the guts will shut down.

Have a look at the vet locator

She is a lot better today she is starting to eat but we have been making her drink water through a syringe. Thanks for asking we have not managed to get her to a vet because none of the vets within a couple hours of me do anything with guinea pigs sadly.

It is good that she is brighter but she does need a vet check if possible to rule out any ongoing illness. I appreciate that can be easier said than done if none of the vets near you will see a guinea pig but hopefully there is one within travelling distance. I would weigh her daily too to see if she is losing any weight.

Where are you based?
It may be that a forum member can recommend a vet who isn’t listed on the vet locator list
