I have my guinea pigs running around my bedroom, (YES I am watching them), I do it every night for them to get exercise. All of a sudden, my guinea pig, Salsa started sneezing like crazy! She has 3 sneezes together every time she does it. She's had it five times now in the last 10 minutes. I looked up symptoms of URI, but, she's not showing any of those symptoms at all. Is this a vet trip? Anything else it could be?

maybe she encountered some kind of allergen? like got her nose in dust and she just had to sneeze to clear it out? my pigs sneeze occasionally, and they have never had a URI. I would keep an eye on her, and if she keeps sneezing, or her eyes and nose get runny, or her breathing is loud and raspy then take her to the vet. i wouldn't worry yet :)

I would rather suspect that she's got some dust up her nose! Hopefully, it will settle down again.

You usually need at least 2 of the symptoms listed on the guinea lynx website for a URI; just sneezing tends to have other causes.

I have had a piggy with a URI and he would sneeze regularly throughout the day. Even when he wasn't sneezing he would rub his nose with his front paw as if something was irritating him. After a day of this he started to have a runny nose too.

We took him to the vet who prescribed a 14-day course of Baytril which did the trick :)

My Mr. Bailee was doing the same thing for 1 whole month...I spoke to his doctor who informed me that it was possible that the ALL NATURAL food I was feeding for the past month could be that he is allergic to some of the ingredients. It does smell rather spicy and herby like...so I took him off of it and in 2-3 days his sneezing became less and less and now no more sneezing.
