My guinea pig isnt eating but seems well in himself

Hi, just noticed my 5 year old piggy hasn't touched any of his fresh food from this morning, but at about 3 I gave him a little bit of lettuce and he ate some of that.
I tried to hand feed him some fresh food this evening and he wasn't having any of it.
I checked him over and he seems fine, do you think there is some underlying problem or is he just getting picky in his old age!

A guinea pig needs to eat and if he isn't there is something wrong. He needs to see a vet URGENTLY. A guinea pig that isn't eating is a dying guinea pig. Guinea pigs need to eat constantly to keep their guts working. You need to start syringe feeding him now!

If he managed some lettuce earlier but isn't keen on the veg now - is it a bigger or harder piece of veg? Try cutting the veg down to really small pieces or grating carrots - can help to identify a problem sometimes I find.

Please make sure your pig/pigs are registered with a vet on the off chance you may need to call them.
