My Guinea Pig Passed Away During Surgery. I Miss Her Sooo Much.

Hello everyone! I feel very sad I took in my guinea pig last Sunday for a check up and they discover abscess behind her ear. I have always been so hesitant about vets. Since her bump kept growing I knew that she had to get the surgery done. Surgery was schedule in for this morning and unfortunately the vet call me that her heart stopped during surgery. It was by far the worst feeling I have felt for a while. I was in shock because she was so happy this morning. She was eating her hay, lettuce, and celery. She was popcorning and was running around. I'm just feeling so sad and upset with myself. I already had plans with her this afterwards. I just miss her sooo much.
 
So very sorry for your loss. We have a rainbow bridge section on the forum and you are more than welcome to post a tribute to your girl when you feel ready, if this is something you would like to do.
 
Ohhh I’m so sorry for your loss. She sounds like she was a very happy piggy well loved, eating & popcorning. So sad for this to happen during surgery. Please don’t think it was your fault or be upset with yourself. She needed the surgery and very sadly the unthinkable happened. Think about the good times you shared.

I am so sorry you have lost your piggy. It is such a horrible shock when you loose one under those circumstances. You did the right thing in taking her to a vet and getting her treatment that shows what a caring owner you are. Please be kind to yourself, think about what a lovely happy life you gave your girl.

So sorry for your loss. How heart breaking that you couldnt spoil her after the op but how sweet that her last moments were filled with celery eating and popcorns. Rest in peace much loved piggie.
