Hello I'm from the USA I'm really concerned I've never seen this when I had my first guinea pig. Please tell me what this is it looks bad I recently got a guinea pig from my friend Ariel she couldn't afford to take care of it cause income problems so I happily accepted to be Reese dad but I want to know what this is IMG_20190307_101614.webp

That looks really painful and infected, I would get her to a vet as soon as you can! There are several things it could be, but whatever it is, she needs to be seen by a vet. How long have you had her? Is she eating and drinking ok? Does she act like she is in pain?

Welcome to the Forum.

Unfortunately as HeatherRose has already said, your guinea pig needs to see a vet urgently.

It is impossible to diagnose based on a photo, but a vet will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
As it looks painful and possibly infected, the sooner you see a vet the easier it will be to treat, so I would strongly advise calling a vet during opening hours today for an appointment, and explaining that the problem is urgent.

Vets who have expereince with guinea pigs can be difficult to find, so if you are able to let us know roughly where you are based (US state and nearest big city) people will be able to offer you guidance.

Well done for taking Reese on - I hope you can help her feel better soon.

Poor Reece have you managed to take her to the vets yet? How has she got on?

I’m moving your post to our health and illness forum. The photo you have shown us shows a piggy who needs to see a vet as a matter of urgency. Please let us know how you get on.

Please take her to the vet ASAP as that looks extremely painful and should not be ignored.
