Hi! Take a deep breath; this is perfectly normal. Guinea pigs sneeze to clear their noses whenever they 'piggy wash'.

You need to see a vet if you are dealing with frequent and persistent sneezing, i.e. not a one-off sneezing fit from some hay dust stuck in the nose or the occasional sneeze; especially if you notice other signs of a respiratory infection like crackly breathing, loss of appetite/weight, coughing other than at meal times, eyes and noses that are crusted with thick yellowish or greenish discharge (URI).

Our two always sneeze once or twice when we have them out of the hutch for lap-time, but have never had any of the above symptoms. Either they are allergic to us or it's a thing they do.

i check his breathing its normal ,no crusty eyes and no mucus from nose ..but he sneeze evryday

he eat normally ,popcorning and plays alot but when he sneeze i am worried

I’ve just finished cleaning my lot.
One of the first things Jemimah did was start sneezing.
This is simply because in a clean cage with lots of fresh hay and a pile of veggies she doesn’t take time to eat properly and just inhales food as if she’s never been fed and never will be fed again.
So she then starts sneezing.
Don’t worry unless it’s persistent.

actually he sneeze now and after sneeze he start nibble is that he inhale food actually he sneezing after eating food

Sometimes piggies who are greedy and stuff too much food into their mouths make a sort of sneeze/cough sound when eating or afterwards, this is usually because they have scoffed too much in one go. Could this be it?

yes i think that so after eating he sneeze mostly ..actually from breeders he didn't get enough food but when he's with me ..he demand food whenever he see me like he will never get food again.and thnx

Aaah. That’s possibly the answer, then. Greedy fellow!

yes but now he's going normal from that behaviour..

Hi, I’m new to this but was interested in this thread as my two do this all the time. One thing to also consider is what bedding are they on? If wood shavings this can be dusty sometimes and mine sneeze a bit when they get cleaned out but it soon passes.

As long as they don’t have runny noses or crusty eyes (signs of URI) I don’t think there’s anything to worry about.

mine sneeze alot to i took them to a vet and he told me not to worrie :)):)):)):)):)):)):)):))
