My guinea pig stands on her back feet

This isn't really a concern but does anyone else's guinea pig stand on their back feet? My girl, Penny, does it all the time; mainly when she wants food lol. I'm just curious as to why she stands like that because my other guinea pig has never stood. My family jokes that Penny is half rabbit xD

Some piggies do it, especially when begging and others won't. Guinea pigs are great individualists when it comes to expressing themselves.

Piggle is all about the back feet, she stands up and also jumps just using her back feet like a kangaroo. Puggle does back feet just to clean her face or to square up to Piggle and knock her under the chin in an argument. Theo doesnt do back feet much but his boy bits probably get in the way

We have a couple of Meerkat Pigs too.

I have 3 that do, and 2 that don’t. The 2 that don’t are slightly larger ladies. I wonder if that has a bearing.

We have a couple of meerkat piggies especially Nova. She has actually learnt to lean back on her butt as she is our largest girl.

Keziah always stands on her back legs when there is a hint of food.
Merab and Jemimah do but usually the front paws are on the cage bars.
