My female guinea pig, Butters, has stopped eating her pellets. My boar will eat his and i always feed them the same brand. She never had this problem before and its a little unsettling. She'll eat carrots and hay and shell drink. I'm just worried. Shes five years old and was in perfect health a week ago. Shes lost a lot of weight and sleeps a lot. Shes stopped pooping too. I honestly have no idea whats wrong. Please help I'm a first time guinea pig owner.

Poop output shows what is going on 24 hours earlier. If she has stopped pooping she has been eating a lot less for more than 24 hours so needs to see a vet especially when weight loss and lethargy are accompanying the symptoms. Piggies can go from perfectly healthy to very ill very suddenly so please don't wait to take her to the vet to find out what's causing the problem. In the meantime mush up some pellets in water and syringe feeding her to make sure there is food going in

Agreed, loss of weight and no poos is a veterinary emergency!
Please get her to a vet ASAP, in the meantime top her up with syringe feeding as @Skypipdot and @Lady Kelly have said.
Good luck! Hope she gets better soon.

So sorry she is poorly, please keep us all updated once you’ve see the vet x

I took butters to a vet and he said their wasnt anything wrong with her. I was woried that she was dying mut she started eating again. I'm confused. But as long as she eats I'm happy.

That's great news! These piggies do like to worry us at times

I have merged your two threads as it gets confusing when there are multiple posts for one issue. I had to look up your previous post to remind myself what the issue was in the first place.
