Hello I’m new here so yea I got my baby guinea pig on Saturday but they didn’t say how old and when I got his a few day past and I’ve been noticing him sneezing a lot and I saw greenish I think booger’s and I asked my mom she said it was just the skin but it’s not and I don’t know what to do should I take him to the vet

Yes, if you're worried take him to the vet! It's always better safe than sorry. Does he have a friend? They're very social creatures and really need to be in pairs :)

Please do take him to the vet ASAP as he could have an upper respitory infection (uri) which can be fatel if left untreated. The vet will also be able to tell you his rough age

Hi!
Please show this link to your mom. Your guinea pig sounds like it may have got respiratory infection.
If you have it seen by a vet in a certain space of time, you can reclaim any vet cost from the pet shop; details are in the guide.
What to check and look out for in new guinea pigs (vet checks, sexing, parasites&illness)

Please also be aware that guinea pigs are social group animals and not wired to be on their own.
Can you really be there for your guinea pig all the hours of the day every single day for next 4-7 years? Because that is what they need.
Companionship

You and your mother may find our new owner's collection very helpful because we address all the areas that new owners have the most questions and worries about: Getting Started - New Owners' Most Helpful Guides

1. Please give your guinea pig a friend, preferably one from a rescue since they can provide matching services that make sure that both guinea pigs are a great match for cohabitation.

2. Any kind of nasal discharge for any animal can be a sign of a cold, or some kind of illness. I would definitely advise you to take the animal to a vet. If you did get your pet guinea from a pet shop, then it should be screened by a vet anyways (even if it doesn't appear to be ill). Illnesses tend to run rampantly in pet shops, unfortunately.

Agree with the others, your piggy needs to see a vet now, these symptoms are NOT normal! Good luck!
