I have 2 one year-old females and 1 five year-old female. The older one is very grumpy- she occasionally nudges the other two in the face, and likes to relax on her own. One of the one year-olds is the exact opposite and always wants to play. She is rather pushy. She likes to poke/sniff the older one's back legs and bum, which makes the older one jump and 'scream'. She repeatedly tells her off, but the younger one doesn't seem to learn.

I'm worried that there will be a fight one day. Is there a way I could get my guinea pigs to calm down?

hey,
This is normal in new guinea pigs meeting older ones. If it does get worse separate them! Check there backs for any wounds that a guinea pig might have done. If there is any wounds just clean it with some clean water.
good luck! :D

This sounds like normal dominance behavior. They are sorting out the pecking order. Just like people, pigs may irritate each other at time. Being as they are girls, they also have a menstrual cycle and may be more hormonal/moody at certain times (I can certainly tell when one of mine is in heat... because she is a pain in the butt to her sister at that time!)

It sounds like your girls are sorting out their dominance within their little group. Our girls bicker from time to time.

Hey I'm very new to this and can't figure put how to make my own thing :mal: But I got my two female 3 month old pigs a week ago and have noticed that when I brought them inside for playtime they started to bicker and annoy each other. I've never owned g pigs before so I'm really scared. They both tried to nip me when I was putting them back but they weren't aggressively squeaking they were hungry squeaking though I gave them veggies. I'm really worried please help :ple::help::(:bye:

That just sounds like them establishing their hierarchy also. As for the nipping our girls will nip when being carried as they don't like it. This video shows you an easy way to pick up piggies to transport them around

@sport_billy
Thank you for replying so quickly! :tu: How long will this bickering last for? Also how can I prevent them from weeing on me as they always wee when I'm playing with them inside. Thank you :cool:

If it is a season it will last for a couple of days and will crop up every weeks or so.

There is no fighting is there? Please make sure they have a hidey house each in their cage.

As for weeing.... Piggies wee and poo, nothing you can do about that I am afraid. I would suggest putting a towel down folded double on your lap when you have them out for lap time, this will protect you clothes..
