I used to have floor time on my wood floor in the living room but now I have four, including my 2 new piggies who like exploring. I have tried twice this week to have floor time in the kitchen as there are far less hard to reach hiding places. I put a fleece throw on the black shiny tiles but none of them would venture from the throw to the tiles - they stopped in their tracks. All I can think of is that the tiles might feel cold?
Any ideas?

Maybe cold but maybe just wary of a different surface. I've had piggies who wouldn't step off the mats I put down for them onto the wooden floor, where as other's have run all over the wood. Only one piggy has stepped off the wooden floor and onto the cushion floor in the kitchen. Caspy used to demand floor time every evening and run straight across the wood onto the cushion floor and into the bathroom on a concrete floor. I don't think he noticed he was on different flooring in his excitement to explore and make sure all was well in the house.

They may think the black is a hole. They have bad eyesight and are very careful about edges, I can imagine them thinking the black tiles are a hole they might fall into.
