My darling kitty had been growing ill over the last week or so. We knew he was on his last legs so we left him to pass peacefully to rainbow bridge without being pulled and poked about by the vets before he died anyway.
He shocked us all, and started looking perkier each day. This was when we took him to the vets as he looked as though he had a fighting chance.

The vets had said that if he were to live, he would be dependent on pills for the rest of his short life - he would only live to christmas. The kindest thing to do was to put him to sleep peacefully, so not to cause suffering.

He came home all asleep, curled up in his cat carrier and wrapped in a towel. I could do nothing but cradle his lifeless body and sob out the greif.

When he came to us he was a cheeky kitten. He would dig out his litter box and shred the curtians, but he soon learned what he was allowed.
When he was a year old he ran away, and he dragged himself back with a shattered hip - he had been hit by a car - and he was very skinny. He was rushed to the vet and had metal pins and lots of stitches in place. By two years old he had fully healed and only had a limp.
For the rest of his days he was an outdoor cat, hunting and rolling in the grass! He would come in only to eat/drink and have a quick ear scratch before he went off out again.
He had the loudest purr I had ever heard, and he was known to keep us all awake if he slept in our beds!
I grew up with him, he was with me 11 years of the 14 I have lived. It feels like a part of me has been ripped away.

I hope to reunite at the bridge when my time comes (not too soon I hope!), Until then, I would like to say how much we all love you my little kitty, and I want you to know that Archie (my dog) is missing you.
