Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I have been on here.

We rescued another guinea pig a few weeks ago, the humane society called because someone had the guinea pig and the shelter didn't want him. He is an older guy, probably about 2-3 years old.

He was in bad shape, dirty, his toes were all deformed and miscolored because they hadn't trimmed his nails, his gland spot was so coated we still haven't gotten all the buildup off and his teeth were so long...he had been on nothing but alfalfa pellets (why do they keep putting pictures of guinea pigs on alfalfa pellets?). The old owners weren't bad people, just unimformed, I don't blame them...HOWEVER...

I took him to the vet for what I thought would be a quick little teeth trim thinking it was just the bottom front ones...I was wrong and now it's going to cost us $183 (american, 110 pounds) to get him back to rights!

And the thing is...we are going to do it, of course we are. It wasn't his fault he had owners who didn't know how to properly do their research, and we are doing the right thing to get him back to rights, he has a good long life ahead of him, and I aim to make it good for him!

His name is Optimus Prime, he is 1175 grams, all white with red eyes. He has a couple of rossettes, I would guess he is part Abby part rex or teddy, and is a sweetheart, once I get pictures, I will post!

AHHH Bless you for doing such a good job by him. He sounds very cute and I bet he's very pleased to have such a nice life now.

Can't wait for photos

Best luck with putting him right - and I hope that he has quite a few happy years in front of him!
